Driven by an ever increasing legislative burden, many businesses are now faced with the complex issues and challenges of how to reduce their energy and carbon intensity to ensure compliance, whilst continuing to deliver their products and services cost effectively.
EEC’s Compliance Team is dedicated to delivering legislative compliance across all sustainability areas for maximum benefit at minimum cost and can advise on the impact
of new and anticipated legislation.
CRC / EU ETS / National Indicators and Carbon Trading
EEC can provide guidance and management through the process of the Carbon Reduction Commitment (CRC) and the European Emissions Trading scheme (EU ETS) and advise how your organisation can improve
its CRC League Table standing.
In the public sector, EEC are able to help local government organisations comply with National Indicators as part of the performance framework.
We can also advise organisations on
‘cap-and-trade’ mechanisms to sell used carbon allowances or, adversely, buy extra allowances privately or on the open market.
EPCs, DECs and other Inspections
Our teams are accredited to conduct Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) to Level 5
and Display Energy Certificates (DECs).
EEC’s Compliance Team also deliver Air Conditioning and Boiler Inspections in line with EPBD requirements as well as full Energy Surveys, Thermal Imaging Surveys and other inspections (e.g. Fire, Asbestos, Legionnaires) internationally, ensuring consistency of approach across multi-national portfolios.
BREEAM and LEED
For the built environment & property sector, building sustainability assessment methodologies including BREEAM and LEED are now being widely used for assessing both new and existing buildings to demonstrate their relative environmental and energy efficiency delivery credentials.
EEC can undertake both types of building assessments and give strategic guidance
on how to potentially improve ratings. We also provide a bespoke service to develop energy, environmental and sustainability performance assessment tools for organisations to have an
in-house measurement capability of their processes and assets, wherever they are located.
